Taken from Milan’s tourism portal, – The Carnival in Milan brings to a close the carnival festivities for the whole of the Italian peninsular and this year it will involve a group of activities that will animate even the outer areas of the city.
This year’s theme is: Milano città che trasforma e si trasforma ….. Trasformiamoci (Milan, a city that is able to transform and undergo transformation itself… let’s transform ourselves.)
This theme is inspired by the various meanings and possibilities that the term transformation entails for Milan as it is a city that has, historically, always been in a state of perpetual motion and continuous change.
As is tradition, the highlight will be Fat Saturday’s afternoon parade and a large show that evening that will take place in Piazza del Duomo.
