Steve McCurry SOUTHEAST Exhibit

Right near Piazza Duomo is a moving exhibit documenting and capturing the people of Afghanistan, Tibet, India, Burma and other Southeastern countries through the eyes and camera of Steve McCurry. A US photojournalist, Steve McCurry has won the World Press Photo Award twice as well as the Nobel Prize of Photography and you will see why from this exhibit. The room is transformed into large portraits that you navigate through, each more powerful than the previous.

The 240 images on display will take you through a story of the Southeast world, more like a journey through pictures.

“The sequence of images presented in the exhibition SOUTHEAST – for Steve McCurry – evokes the broad mosaic of human experience and my random encounters with shapes and shadows, water and light. I wanted to give the visitor a visceral sense of beauty and wonder that I found in front of me during my travels, when the surprise of being foreign is mixed with the joy of familiarity.”

This is an exhibit in Milan you don’t want to miss, so when you around the Duomo Christmas shopping, make sure to stop by!
