Officina 12

For an Italian restaurant on the Navigli that is consistently good, you must try Officina 12. The red awning is inviting but once you walk inside you know it won’t disappoint. The aperitivo may not be very crowded, but the bar area is really pleasant, so perhaps try to arrive a little early for a pre dinner drink. The ceiling extends to a seemingly eternity stopped by skylights which make the bar area light and open. But even better, the bar tenders are friendly and accommodating. It’s all in all a good time.

The menu is typical Italian fare, with simple food prepared well. The menu is extensive in options and everything from their salads to their pastas, meat dishes and pizzas are really good. Essentially, you can’t order wrong.
Built in a former factory, the space is huge and in the summer months they open up the outside seating area in the front and also have a back garden. There are a few different rooms inside, but the lighting is just right, so in a way you feel l like you are in an intimate dinner, but in another way, you feel like you are in a lively atmosphere with of course, the standard well dressed, beautiful people of Milan.

So if you are trying to pick a restaurant for the night, Officina 12 is good stable option. But no matter how many tables there are, the restaurant is always busy so make a reservation, because pleading with the maître D is a lost cause.
